Our sweet Judd

I have been putting off this post because I know it's going to be painful to write. I'm going to keep it brief because my emotions are still raw and I cry everytime I think about it, let alone write about it.

We lost our sweet, sweet Judd on Thursday October 18th. He fought long, hard and all the way until the end with his battle against cancer. I am so proud of him and hope I can be as couragious as him one day.

Jordan's Dad was diagnosed with leukemia a year and a half ago while vacationing in Hawaii. He was very sick but got better. He was strong and fought hard but the cancer kept coming back and became more aggressive each time. He remained so positive and had faith that could move mountains. The nurses ADORED him and would often fight over who was going to treat him that shift. He would repeatedly say, "I'm great" when asked how he was feeling or if he was in any pain. Literally, he never complained.

The months passed and his hospital visits became more frequent and more lengthy. We would visit him as much as possible but children were often not allowed since sickness was a major concern. This is my one regret. I wish I would have gone up there more. I wish I would have talked to him more about his parents who I never knew, his childhood, his accomplishments in life, all of the things he still wanted to experience. My heart aches and my stomach churns when I think about it. I am extremely grateful for the 8 years I was able to share with him though. I feel so lucky to be married to one of his sons. He loved his boys and raised them all to be incredible men.

Judd's life seemed to be ticking away quickly as we watched his body start to shut down. He became so thin and frail, it was extremely hard to see what was happening. He became very sick on October 17th, my birthday. I devastating phone call from Judy informing me that they would be removing Judd from all of his medication and sending him home with hospice. I could not believe what I was hearing. We all thought he would just get better again, he always managed to pull through, why not now? Judd's family gathered around him all night and shared tears, memories and even some laughter. I knew his parents were there with us, I could feel them.

As the hours passed, people came, said their final good-byes and left. It was always excrutiating to watch someone spend those last, sacred moments with him. I knew my time was coming and the thought of saying good bye seemed impossible, I wasn't strong enough and I wasn't ready yet. I approached him and all I could do was cry. I tried to choke out some words but I felt so raw and vulnerable that not much came out. I kissed him, thanked him for the last 8 years and told him we would take care of Judy. I cried to entire 30 minute drive home.

I will never forget the memories I have of Judd. I will never forget how much he loved me, Jordan, Hendrix and Remmi. I will never forget his smile and sparkly eyes. I will never forget his kind soul and giving heart. I will never forget my time with him. I will never forget him.

I cherish this picture. It's the only one I have of Judd holding Remmi.

5 Months

Remmi baby! You are 5 months old already, WHAT????? It's crazy how time flies when you're having fun. And fun you are! In fact, I think there might be something wrong with you because you're such a good baby, it's kind of weird. You NEVER cry. You sleep through the night (like 12 hours). You smile at EVERYONE. You are just a little angel and we love you so much!

At 5 months, you:

Love to put anything and everything in your mouth.
Smile constantly.
Sleep through the night (I didn't even have to sleep train you)
Weigh around 16 pounds.
Wear 9-12 month clothes.
Drink formula. You started to use my nipples are chew toys so you get the bottle now. =)
Are thoroughly entertained by your brother.
Laugh. Giggle. Jabber. Squeal.
Get shy sometimes and bury your face into my shoulder. It's so cute!

I took THREE pictures of you before you barfed all over that 5 month sticker. The ink started to run so I couldn't take anymore with the sticker. Why do you barf so much??

Happy Birthday to My Love

Wow. I have A LOT of blogging to do and when I mean A LOT... I mean my brain stops working for a minute when I try to focus on what has happened in the last 7 days. Let's start with the happy stuff, shall we?

The love of my life, my best friend and my soul mate turned the big THREE ZERO on Saturday. Whoo whoo! Oh my heavens I love that boy. He makes me belly laugh at least once a day. Smile when I don't think I have any smiles left for the day. Reassures me when I'm being irrational. Tells me I'm pretty at the end of the day when really, I look homeless. Holds my hand any chance he gets. Wipes my tears on his shirt and hugs me tight. Listens to EVERY word that comes out of my mouth. Loves me no matter what. And last but not least... he makes my soul still, warm and complete.

We have been through so much together, especially this past year and I feel like our relationship has some how tripled in awesomeness. Didn't think that was possible, did ya? It's really incredible how much your love changes and grows after you experience life, pure joy, death, heart ache and sorrow. I could not ask for a better best friend. I would be lost, hopelessly lost with out my Jordan.

Happy Birthday Love.

Happy Birthday Judd!

It was my sweet father-in-laws birthday last week. We were able to go visit him up at The Huntsman Cancer Institute while the babies were sleeping (thanks Annie & Kyle). It was great to spend some quality time with Judd, Judy, Jaden & Brooke. I love Jordan's family so much and feel so lucky that they accepted me as one of their own.

Judd is doing well and currently home (this picture was taken 2 days before they released him). He is such a fighter and I'm so proud of him. He has been through so much and continues to have such a wonderful attitude... it's totally inspiring. Happy Birthday sweet Judd! We love you more than you will ever know!

Side note: It was also Judy & Jaden's birthdays last week. They weren't cool enough for me to take a picture with them though.  =)  HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU TWO! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

RCC ZOO PARTY!

We were lucky enough to be invited to TWO zoo parties this year! Jordan's work had a party there a few weeks ago and our fertility clinic had a party there the week after. FUN! We had lot's of adventures on both trips and loved spending time together as a family.

4 months old and some Instagram pics.

Wow. I got a smart phone and now all I do is upload pictures to Instagram and Facebook... no more blogging. That needs to change FOR SURE. Cute Remmi turned 4 months old 10 days ago and I haven't blogged about it yet. I took her to the pediatrician last week and got all of her stats but can't really remember them (reason number 57 why I need to blog RIGHT after things happen). I know she's a bit above the average for weight (15 lbs to be exact)................. it's okay sweetie, I love your chunky legs and double chin SO much! The pediatrician asked me if I had started solids yet. I probably looked at him funny because I thought to myself, "Solids? WHAT? She's not old enough for that yet." Then I replied with, "Maybe we shouldn't start solids yet with how chunky she already is." LOL! Time is flying by with this little one, geez!

Remmi, you are the most adorable baby in the world. Your smile and sparkly eyes make everyone fall in love with you. You are so happy and never let us forget it with your constant "coo's" and squeals! I like to call you my little parrot becuase your squawking is so loud.

You've gotten really good with grabbing objects and putting them into your mouth. You get so excited when I put a blanket on top of you. Like a game, you grab it and smother your face in it, squealing with delight. You make me so happy.

You love to sit up and watch your crazy brother run all over the place. He loves you so much and you've started to giggle everytime he gets in your face. I'm sorry he smothers you so much.  =)

This is the face she makes when concentrating really hard on something.

Here are some photos I have posted on FB and Instagram lately.

I am so in love with you Remmi baby. This is a moment I will never forget.

Cutest little bum crack I have ever seen!
