Hendrix and Mommy Time.

Hendrix and I spend every day, all day together but sometimes he just needs some one on one, special Hendrix time where I focus on just him. This is so important to me, especially since a new baby will be here soon and we won't get as much buddy time together. The weather has been so nice that I decided to take him to Gardner Village where he could run around and feed some ducks. We had so much fun and I totally had a moment where I thought, "This is what life is all about. I am so lucky."

Feeding the ducks and birds. Hendrix was showing me on his fingers how many ducks there were. Do you like his binoculars? He likes to wear them everywhere!

The candy store had a sign out front that said, "Only 12 eggs are left hiding in the village. Find one and bring it back for a special treat." We looked high and low and finally found an egg. Hendrix was so excited to get his treat! A chocolate covered oreo ball... YUM!

Look how ginormous this duck is! We were throwing him bread and he kept getting closer and closer to us. Hendrix held his hand out with a piece of bread in it and this giant duck took it right out of his hand! He thought it was the funniest thing EVER! I can't believe he wasn't scared becuase I totally was. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it.

Why is my baby so old?

We HAD to stop by the bakery and get a treat after! Hendrix chose a sprinkled donut... good choice buddy. What a fun day I had with my little guy. I love him so much!

Sunday music.

Hendrix loves to play his real guitar that Grandma Brenda gave him for his birthday. He's getting pretty good on it, strumming and holding it the right way. Aren't they so cute with their guitars? I love these two so much!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We had a leprechuan visit our house late last night! Sneaky little guy left a trail of shamrocks leading to a treasure for Hendrix who was more then excited about it all. On Friday, Hendrix made a "trap" for leprechauns at school so we put it to the test. We didn't catch him but had a lot of fun! (Thanks Grandma Judy and Mandy Brown for making St. Patrick's day so fun!)

Treasure!

This is the trap Hendrix made.... so cute!

He loves his new piggy bank and went around the house searching for more coins to put inside. He calls it his "penny bank."

Wearing his new green shirt from the leprechaun. My baby is getting SO old!

30 weeks pregnant

Here I am 30 weeks pregnant with my new hair cut. I was getting REALLY sick of the wet bun on top of my head that seemed to become a daily fashion statement for me. The thought of blowing all of that hair dry was not appealing to me in the slightest and I can only image that it's going to get worse when baby Jovie gets here and I'm even more exhausted. Solution: Cut 7 inches off! I've been growing my hair out ever since Ben left on his mission (3 1/2 years ago) and desperately needed a change. Thanks Chelsey for pampering me last night!

As far as pregnancy goes... I've started to feel REALLY tired and worn down lately. I don't sleep well at night so that doesn't help the situation but other then that I've been doing great and feelin pretty good! I've been walking everyday, either on my treadmill or outside and that seems to make me feel a bit better as well. Pregnancy is really hard but I am thankful everday I feel my little baby kick me in the ribs and remind me how long it took us to get to this point. I'm so excited to see her little face.

I go to the doctor on Friday but so far I've gained 22 pounds (way less then with Hendrix) and I've been measuring 1 cm bigger the whole time. Maybe she'll come a bit early too. I'm pretty sure she flipped from being breech which is awesome and she now weighs 3 pounds and is 17 inches long. She's going to be here before we know it. YAY!

Baby Jovie's Nursery

I decided that since this is post #100 on the Mylittlesunshineblog, I would blog about something fun and exciting! Baby Jovie's nursery couldn't be more fun and exciting, right? I guess I'm also revealing the name of our baby girl too! We've had the name Jovie May Kemp on our minds the whole pregnancy and even started to call her that a couple of months ago but weren't "set" on anything until one day when I had an overwhelming feeling that Jovie just needed to be her name. Hendrix calls her baby "Jobie" and it's pretty much the cutest thing in the entire world. He is SO excited to meet her and talks about her everyday. The other day he was rocking in the rocking chair with Jordan and said, "Daddy... I love baby Jobie." If that doesn't melt your heart, I don't know what does.

I've slowly been painting, decorating and organizing her room but can finally say that it's ALMOST put together. I've been getting really tired again so I'm glad I won't have a lot of projects in the next 2 months.

When we found out we were having a girl, I knew instantly that her room had to be purple. I've always wanted a purple nursery because I love the color and I feel like EVERY little girl's room is pink (which is fine, I just love purple more.) I wanted the color to be girly and peaceful at the same time. I LOVE how everything turned out and sometimes just sit in her room because it's so calming. I still have a few things to hang but here are some pictures of the almost finished room.

That purple blanket was given to me by Meagan and Judy. It's the softest blanket in the whole wide world AND it's purple.  =)

This was the dress that I was blessed in when I was a baby. I wanted my little girl had to be blessed in it as well. I'm so glad my Mom saved our blessing dresses and took such good care of them. It's the cutest little thing EVER and even comes with matching booties and bonnet.

This is a horrible picture, the lighting wasn't very good but you get the idea of how adorable the ruffle curtains are. I searched HIGH and LOW for these and returned quite a few sets of curtains before I settled on these.

I made this bow holder and think it turned out so cute. I'm kind of obsessed with hair accessories for myself so having a little girl is only going to make things worse.  Thanks pinterest for the idea.

I had to throw in a picture of my new diaper bag. I'm IN LOVE with it! Jordan thinks it looks like a bowling bag and can't understand why it cost so much... it's just a diaper bag, right? No honey, it's not JUST a diaper bag and you will never understand so just nod your head and say you love it.

Hawaii (Day 8)

I didn't end up taking any pictures on day 7 of our Hawaii trip. It pretty much rained the whole day so we stayed inside most of the time but did get to swim a little around 4:00 when the sun decided to come out. So I made up for it and took a bunch of pictures on day 9, our last day. We played at the beach, went swimming, shopping, out to dinner and got a little yogurt after. What a fun trip!

As far as the plane rides went..... our way to Hawaii was a lot better then I thought it would be. Hendrix played for the 2 hour flight to Phoenix, then we ate some lunch at the airport during our 2 1/2 hour layover. He REALLY needed a nap at this point and slept for the first 2 1/2 hours on the way to Maui. We lucked out and had our flight time cut by one whole hour because there were no head winds that day. We kept busy with playdough, coloring and cars. He did great the entire trip, sleeping and napping like normal. On the way home from Maui, our flight left at 11:30 pm (2:30 am Utah time) with the duration being 5 1/2 hours to Phoenix. We kept Hendrix awake so he would sleep well on the plane and he did. He slept the entire flight but was extremely restless, keeping us awake. We were lucky enough to sit RIGHT BEHIND a baby who cried the E N T I R E flight to Phoenix. SERIOUSLY???? Give your kid a freakin binki!!! Everyoen on the plane was so annoyed, it was awful. Jordan and I kept looking at each other like we wanted to die. Anyway... we made it home a little bit exhausted but all 2 of us had a nap and slept really well last night. I went to the doctor today for my appointment and checked out good with me and the baby. What a fun "last" trip with just the 3 of us.

Oh my heavens, I love him!

Hendrix was really sick of me taking pictures. This is his mad face.

27 weeks pregnant! How lucky that I get to be on the beach.

His "tools" that he played with the whole trip.

 POOL TIME!

 Last sunset.

Hawaii (Day 6) SNOW CONES!

Today was a good day! The sun was out and the winds had died down. It was the most beautiful day we've had since arriving here. We played on the beach and hit the pool all before 11:00 AM. After eating some lunch we went into Lahaina again and got the most delicious snow cones in the entire world. Seriously, these snow cones taste like icecream! YUM! Unfortunately these were the only pictures I took today.

Judy and Judd were so sweet to watch Hendrix for us tonight so that we could go on a little date. We ate at Leilani's On The Becah and enjoyed the most delicous fish tacos and sweet potatoe fries. Jordan is STILL talking about the food 4 hours later. We did a little shopping, got some icecream and watched a hula show after dinner. Whaler's Village is so much fun!

I asked Hendrix to show me his red lips and these were the faces I got. LOL! He's so funny!
