The Polar Express

The Polar Express is Hendrix's favorite movie and has been for at least a year. He's obsessed with trains, especially the The Polar Express. We watch the movie all year round, even when it's 90 degrees outside. We decided to surprise him this year and give him a ticket to ride the Heber Creeper/Polar Express for his birthday. When I was buying tickets I noticed that they had a train ride on December 15th... his birthday! He unwrapped his golden ticket (thank you Aunt Wendy) when he woke up on his birthday. He was sooooo excited and asked ALL DAY LONG if it was time to go ride the train yet. We left Remmi with Grandma Judy and drove up to Heber. It was absolutely AMAZING. When you describe Christmas being "magical" for a child, this is what I picture. It was worth every penny, he will remember this for the rest of his life.
My one regret is not taking my nice camera but I wasn't sure if it would be a pain to lug around. My cell phone was fine but the flash kind of ruined the pictures.

Hendrix wanted to eat at "Old Mcdonalds" for his special dinner date.

Waiting in the lobby before we climb aboard.

 ALL ABOARD!

Waiting patiently for Santa to climb aboard.

Santa sat and talked with Hendrix for 2 or 3 minutes. It was really neat! Santa gave him a bell like in the story and wished him Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas.

We got photo bombed by an elf!

BIRTHDAY SNOW!

How fun is it to wake up to a foot of snow on your 4th birthday??? Wicked awesome fun! Hendrix was so excited to come home from his soccer game and play in the snow with Daddy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HENDRIX!!!!

Happy Birthday to my favorite little boy! I can't believe you are F O U R years old Hendrix. I vividly remember the day you were born and it seems like it was yesterday when I met you for the first time and kissed those tiny fingers and toes. I fell in love with you the instant I saw your sweet face and have loved you, every second, of every day, since then. You are amazing. Brilliant. Fun. Handsome. Sweet. Energetic. Loved. Mine.

Here are some fun things about you right now.
-Weigh 40 pounds
-Are 43 inches tall (90th percentile... tall like your Daddy)
-Love being a big brother
-Say the most hilarious things
-Try to figure out how everything works.
-Ask A LOT of questions
-LOVE trains (The Polar Express)
-Learning how to write your name
-Have an overly sensative nose
-Love preschool at Saavy Kids
-Have A LOT of energy
-Only wear Converse high top shoes
-Talk to everyone and anyone
-Love your baby sister
-Still love being rocked before going to bed
-Love books

The balloon fairy came this morning to wish you a happy birthday! She almost got caught last night when she came to visit (yikes)! You were so excited to play in all 75 balloons she blew up and left for you. Even Remmi joined in on the balloon fun.

I'm sorry your hair looks so awful... your Daddy is making me grow it out for the winter.

Remmi has been sticking her tongue out like this lately. It's pretty funny.

Mmmmm. Of course all she wanted to do was eat the balloons.

Mommy and Daddy gave you your very own, genuine, Polar Express ticket. We're going to ride the Heber Creeper "Polar Express" tonight! You have been carrying that ticket around ALL day. Thanks Aunt Wendy!

Grandma Judy gave you the actual Polar Express train! The look on your face was priceless when you openend it. We've been watching the movie, playing with your train and eating crepes all morning (your request). She also gave you train pajamas and a blue robe, just like the one in the movie, for you to wear on the train ride tonight.

6 Months

WOW. I hate blogger sometimes. I guess the photos I was uploading on here are huge, therefore my storage space was gone which lead to me having to purchase more storage space. LAME-O! So I'm going to play a bit of catch up now. Remmi turned 6 months of couple of weeks ago, here are some fun things she's been doing lately.

We refer to Remmi as:

"The Remmi-grill" Hendrix still calls girls "grills." LOL!

She is also known as "Grizz" because of the spontaneous growling she's known for. Seriously, this is the most hilarious thing you've ever heard come out of a tiny baby. I'm considering posting it on Youtube because it's so funny. I have NEVER heard a baby growl like she does. Remmi only growls at you if she likes you or if she gets excited. I'll have to post a video sometime.

I like to call her "my squishy."  =)

I started feeding her rice cereal a couple of weeks ago and she absolutely loves it! We weren't surprised since she's had a hefty appetite since day one. I was completely schocked when I introduce carrots, it was like I was feeding her lemon heads or something. She shivered, quivered and gagged. So dramatic! I have finally gotten her to eat sweet potatoes mixed with rice cereal and a tiny bit of formula. She gobbles it up now!

Remmi goes to bed at 7 pm every night. She's pretty much done for the day by 6:30 and ready for her bath and bottle. She sleeps through the night, sometimes waking up because she's lost her binki. She's usually up around 6 am but that's WAY TOO EARLY for us "non-morning" people so she gets put in her swing at sleeps there for another 2 hours. I love getting a full nights rest. Thank you baby! (What am I going to do when she's too big for the swing???? I don't want to think about it.)

Hendrix and Remmi pretty much adore each other and think they're both hilarious. It's so cute watching siblings intereact, even when they are 3 1/2 years apart. I hope they remain buddies. Hendrix get so excited to see Remmi every morning and always makes sure she's happy. He's great at giving her toys and putting her binki back in her mouth when needed.

I know it's too early for her to actually say any real words, but lately she's been going, "Mamamam mamama," especially when she's sad. I like to think she's really saying, "Momma." One can only hope.

I take her in for her 6 1/2 month check up on Tuesday (I forgot to schedule her 6 month appointment) so I'll post her stats then.

Here are some random pictures of Remmi at 6 months.

She's showing me her sparkly red toe nails that I just painted.

 Sibling love.

Remmi loves to put anything and everything in her mouth. One of her favorites... my sweatshirt strings. I took this picture in the parking lot of the grocery store because she had the string in her mouth the whole time we were shopping. lol!

Hendrix's First Soccer Game

He was so mad I wanted to take his picture before he ran out onto the field. He couldn't wait one more second to get out there.

Waiting for his turn to practice kicking the ball into the net.

Cody and his awesome coaching skills.

FINALLY his turn! I love the anticipation emitting from his face.

 Just takin a breather.

Buddies.

Oh my gosh... how cute are these pictures of Hendrix's first soccer game? He plays on a team with Bentley and is lucky enough to have Cody as his coach and Jordan has his assistant coach. Even though he didn't touch the ball much and kind of lost interest after awhile, he loved running around with "fire on his back" and couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had. He told Wendy that he needed to "recharge his batteries" about half way through the game. LOL! I am thoroughly looking forward to their next game on Saturday.

When I told Hendrix he had a soccer game on Saturday he got all excited and said, "Like Daddy?" "Momma, will you come sit on the benches and watch me play soccer like Daddy does?" He got so excited when I told him we were ALL coming. Annie and Kyle showed up to make it even more exciting! Yay for soccer fans!

Side note: Cody and Wendy told us to go buy Hendrix's cleats and shin guards at Sports Authority because they had a package deal where you got cleats, shin guards and a ball for $18. We showed up around closing time and went to pay for everything. The cashier was having a hard time getting it all to ring up so the manager had to come help. After a good 15 minutes our total came to $2.14 and the manager was so tired of everything going wrong that day that he said, "Sounds like a good deal" and walked away. Yep... we totally scored.

Halloween 2012

TRICK-OR-TREATING

It was Remmi's bedtime by the time we got outside to go trick-or-treating. She just layed on my chest the whole time and dozed a little bit. She was so snuggly, I love it!

Hendrix had the time of his life though. This is the first year he really understood what was happening and got all sorts of excited about it. He was "flying" from house to house, just like Buzz. Kids are wicked awesome. I hate Halloween but watching him have so much fun makes me like it a little bit more.

BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!
This was the day his costume arrived in the mail. He was so excited, running around the house saying, "To infinite and beyond!"

TRICK-OR-TREATING @ GRANDMA'S WORK
My Mom works for LDS Family Services and they have awesome tick-or-treating every year inside of the building. Hendrix was lucky enough to be there with all of his cousins, they had lot's of fun!

HOFHINE HALLOWEEN PARTY
Cody and Wendy threw a really fun Halloween party this year in Tom and Sue's giant garage. Cody made delicious chili, which I ate to my hearts content. We carved pumpkins, played games and won prizes. I hope they do it again next year!

Remmi grill was a fuzzy little cat for her FIRST Halloween. Let's be honest, I pretty much LOATHE cats but she was quite possibly the cutest little cat I have ever seen. LOVE HER!

This is Hendrix on Saturday around 5:00 PM. He was exhausted from all of our Hallween outings and apparently couldn't make it up the stairs before he fell asleep. LOL!
