Forget me not photos.

I feel like a take a million photos that no one ever sees because I never post them, scrap book them or hang them on the wall. This doesn't mean the photos should be forgotten though. They might not be the best quality or spruced up in photoshop but sometimes these are the photos that mean the most to me and make me smile. These are the moments I capture when Hendrix is in his underwear, with bed head, food all over his face/clothes and never in a matching outfit. I love them just as much as the beautiful family pictures on my wall.

 Curiosity

 Love for his "regular" blanket.

 "Please stop growing up" moment.

 Pure happiness!

 So much like Daddy.

Dancin in big boy underwear and the cutest little bum you've ever seen!

Muscle man!

Some hope and inspiration.

Remember that blog, The Wiegand's, that I mentioned in my "25 Things you might not know about me post?" Well, she posted this quote on her blog today and for some reason it gave me some hope and comfort. Just thought I would share it.

"I find beauty in not only the beautiful things in life, but the bittersweet and sad as well. To me, there is something poignantly lovely about the human experience from its splendor to its grief. God created all our emotions, not just the happy ones, and for His good purposes. That's why a good cry can feel so good. And hitting our limits forces us to look outside ourselves for a Savior. It is in the plea, when we're at our end, that we can find that which is truly life-giving. Personally, my moments of deepest grief, deepest pain, have resulted in the most beautiful seasons in my heart. I've met God more intimately in those moments than in all the other pleasant ones combined. What isn't completely lovely about that?"

FYI: Since I've been so open and honest about our infertility ventures, I thought I would update you on our situation. Last month we got the okay to proceed with a second IUI and decided not to tell anyone this time around. Not telling everyone somehow made it easier for me to get through and made it a lot easier when it didnt't end up working because I didn't have to tell everyone the disappointing news. Naturally, we were shocked and upset but tried to move past it the best that we could. That's why the quote above moved me so much. I hope if you're going through something hard it will help you too.

Sunflower Hutch Transformation

I promise I'm not psycho about re-finishing furniture, I just had a few projects sitting in my garage and instead of cleaning up after each project then making another HUGE mess, I decided to just power through and get them all finished. What a week it has been!

BEFORE

My sweet mother-in-law used to keep this hutch in her kitchen when it was super cool to decorated in themes. I totally love the sunflowers though. So it's been in their basement for a LONG time and while Jordan was helping them move a couple of weeks ago, Judd offered it to me. I couldn't pass it up, look at all of that charm! I had big plans for this hutch and I love how it turned out.

AFTER
This color is "Cherry Red" (Krylon) and glazed with a dark brown glaze.

I sprayed the hardware black and bought new knobs that are not pictured.
I also mod-podged scrapbook paper on the doors to add some character.

25 things you might not know about me.

1. I have nightmares about cutting my hair off even though I've had short hair my entire life. Now I know why the people on "What Not To Wear" cry when the stylist cuts all of their hair off.

2. I want to go back to school. I actually told Jordan this the other day. I want to be an RN.

3. I eat something sweet EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have a problem.

4. I love Christmas time with all of my heart, I think about it like once a week. Only 6 more months!!!!!

5. I kind of hate everyone who is pregnant right now.... sorry, it's true. (AND everytime I hear someone complain about being pregnant, I want to punch them in the face.)

6. I eat waffles at least 4 times a week.

7. I want to own my own business.

8. I secretly wish my blog was super popular with sponsers and thousands of followers that I inspire.

9. I'm 5"4, weigh 145 pounds and I feel comfortable in my own skin 75% of the time. (I like to think that's a good percentage.)

10. My favorite time of the day is 12:00 at night when Jordan and I are SO tired but we can't help laying in the dark, talking about life and all of the things that happened that day.

11. I feel pretty when I get ready and Jordan takes a double take as I walk by.

12. My favorite candy is probably CHEWY RUNTS.

13. My favorite color is yellow and my heart palpitates every time I see something in a mustard yellow color.

14. I love our house and have put a lot of time, work and love into it.

15. I sleep A LOT. In fact, I probably sleep too much.

16. I loathe the heat and pray that it will snow everyday. I hate the summer.

17. I want to live in another state, hopefully sooner rather then later.

18. My favorite blog is "thewiegands.com." She inspires me and I want to be like her. You should read her story.

19. I buy bread at Great Harvest just so I can get a free slice.

20. The best job I've ever had was at "The Store" where I worked for 5 years. I still love that place and try to go there as often as I can.

21. I don't want to brag but I have a beautiful marriage and I feel so so so blessed to have my love for FOREVER. Jordan is absolutely, with out a doubt, the best thing that has ever happened to me. (Hendrix comes in EXTREMELY close at 2nd place but I couldn't have him with out Jordan.)

22. "Shark Week" has made me completely terrified of being in the ocean... like seriously terrified.

23. One time I ate 6 cupcakes all by myself, in a parking lot, at soccer camp. Don't worry, I wasn't binging and purging I just didn't want to share with anyone.   =)

24. Jordan and I watch "House Hunters" every single night. Weird huh?

25. I have a fear of being one of those Moms who lives in the era they went to highschool in. PLEASE tell me if my jeans are not in style anymore and I need to change my hair because it's been the same for 15 years. Thanks.

24th of July awsomeness.

Jordan lighting off his row of little dinky fireworks, lol.

 Aw, we love Grandpa Judd!

This is Haylie and Hendrix's reaction to the fireworks. HA!

Hendrix's first sparkler ever! He wasn't quite sure when I first handed it to him but then warmed up pretty quick.

 I love this picture!

Haylie was really tired and wasn't feelin the fireworks tonight. I love the look on her face in the picture, classic!

Our dressers are FINALLY finished!

This is the only dresser I got a "before" picture of. Just picture the tall dresser the exact same way.  =)

 Hardware before being painted.

 All sanded!

Primed with KILZ, love that stuff.

First coat of "Heirloom White" spray paint. (I used 17 cans of spray paint in case you were wondering. Yes, 17!)

All fnished and back in it's place.

I hate to take a picture of our bed because I love it so much.

Here is the tall dresser all finished.

I love all of the beautiful detail on the dressers, they look so antique now. I also decided to keep the original hardware and paint it because I couldn't find new hardware that looked vintage enough for my taste. I really like how they turned out but they were defenitely a bigger project then I had anticipated, I'm R E A L L Y glad that they're done. PHEW! A shout out to Judy and Judd for giving us these dressers when we were married, they are really neat pieces of furniture and I have a feeling they'll be hanging with us for at least another 6 years.  =)

A day at the park with Marcus

I've had this post sitting in my "drafts" folder for a while and forgot to post it. I saw a Marcus post on Wendy's blog and remembered about it. I took Marcus and Hendrix to the park one of the days I watch Marcus while Julie was at her teaching conference. They loved it and were very sad to leave.

 Love him!

 Chasing butterflies

 Look at that... mid-air!

This is Hendrix's favorite thing to play on at this park. I still don't know why.

 Peek-A-Boo!

Takin a break... gettin some sun.

I could not get Marcus to smile for me, little stinker!
