Hawaii 2013

We were lucky enough to go to Maui again this year! It was extra fun going with Jordan's whole family (sans Cash and Chloe). I love spending time with the Kemp clan and what a better place to do it than Hawaii?

We did so many fun things and enjoyed lot's of time together as a family. Kids sure make things more fun but I don't know if I'll bring them along next time we go, I think we're due for a "Jordan and Amy Hawaii trip." It's super fun to have the kids but REALLY far for them to travel. My kids were absolutely amazing while we traveled inspite of the horrible layovers, red eye flights and missed flights. Little angels they were.  =)

Here are a few things we did while in Maui:

WE FINALLY ARRIVED! It was 3 in the morning Utah time.

Our first couple of days there were cold and rainy but we didn't mind, we were in Hawaii!

Here is Hendrix playing in a pile of ants..... boys.

We swam A LOT.

She loved the warm weather and was happy to be around her cousins who adore her.

 ARRRRRRRR!

Remmi's reaction to sand for the first time. She hated it. lol!

A couple of Hams. The face that Hendrix is making reminds me of a funny face that Judd would sometimes pull. It makes me smile knowing that he's got a little bit of the Juddles in him.  =)

Jaden and Brooke stayed in a hotel room so we were able to play at the resort pools with them! There were super fun water slides, caves and waterfalls!

We caught this little guy on the beach. It was so funny to watch run sideways back into the ocean. I don't know if Brooke and I had more fun playing with him or if the kids did.

FAMILY PICS

We tried to snap a few family pics on the beach with the sunset in the background. Brooke took some great pictures of our little family with her nice camera. I'll post more when she gives them to me.

I cannot put into words how much I love this man. Next time we go to Hawaii... it's just going to be us. Maui is so romantic and I would love to experience it with just the 2 of us.

MAUI AQUARIUM

On our way to the Maui aquarium! This was our second time there and we loved it just as much! Jordan said I looked like Kid Rock with my fedora and aviators on, that's why I'm throwin up a rock on sign.

Remmi was fascinated by all of the fishies. She kept saying, "ewwww and ohhhhh" the whole time. It's find that she looks like a boy in these pictures.  =)

Hendrix touching the star fish and sea urchins.

This was my favorite fish. He looked to grumpy. lol.

Hendrix liked this sand fish because it's like the one on Finding Nemo, Mr. Johanson.

The baby sea turtles were to die for!

 Hammerhead! YIKES!

I love this picture because you can see how GINORMOUS some of the fish were. They could have easily swallowed my little 4 year old.

Jordan and Hendrix are sitting in the under water tunnel. You can see the take from above, below and all around you. It's pretty amazing.

Remmi girl at the pool... happy as can be.

CONDO

We stayed with Judy in her condo for the first half of the week then moved to a condo down the street for the last few days. It was such a cute little bungalow, we loved staying there.

View from our balcony.

BIG BEACH

Here is Hendrix SO excited to go to Big Beach and wear his new goggles in the ocean. We played for hour in the waves. This was our favorite beach.

We stopped and got snow cones while our kids were passed out in the back seat. BEST SNOW CONES ON THE PLANET!  =)

 The view from our balcony.

Remmi's favorite thing to do was sit with her legs in between these slats and watch the waves.

BABY BEACH

We loved this beach! It was a giant tidepool where the kids could play in the shallow water. It was super windy that day AND we got rained on but we had fun anyway. The beach and the water here were beautiful!

Our last night on Maui. Dinner at Leilani's on the beach.

My view of the sunrise after a long red eye flight.

Our poor kids sleeping on the airport floor after flying red eye and having an 8 hour layover at the LA airport. DAY FROM HELL. I have never been more excited to pull into our driveway.

All about Hendrix

I feel like I've been posting so much about Remmi lately, so now it's Hendrix's turn to be in the spot light.
Hendrix attended his fist year of preschool at Savvy Kid's this year. His teacher was Ms. Tammy, who he loved to pieces. He learned so much this year! Here are a few things he's really good at:
-Writing his name
- His ABC's
-Letter sounds
-The months of the year
-The days of the week
-Counting (he can count to 40 all by himself.)

He also learned some really cute songs and made some adorable art projects. I'm so glad he loves going to school, it's been really good for both of us!  =)

Hendrix continues to love trains, cars, trucks and anything that moves. He also has a fascination with building things and taking them apart. That's weird, I don't know where he got that from! Jordan and I both think he's going to be some sort of engineer when he grows up. You should see him choose the right size wrench for the bolt that he's unscrewing or how he takes apart anything and everything. He took the training wheels off of his bike one day because he wanted to learn how to ride with out them. (Not quite there yet.) He takes the door knobs off of the doors sometimes too! Jordan is so good about letting Hendrix help him do everything. I think Hendrix is most happy when he's "workin with Daddy." They're so cute together, it makes me smile. He's not really into sports or super heros, which seems to be what other boys are interested in at this age.

Hendrix is so good at playing by himself inside or outside of the house. He just totes around with different toys/tools, builds cute little things, makes up games and digs in the dirt. Such a boy! He's a very mellow child (when he's not around cousins or friends, lol).

I don't believe that anyone could be a better brother to little Remmi. Hendrix is so cute with her and loves her so much! He's never mean to her or intentionally hurts her. He mostly likes to play games with her to make her laugh or pick her up and carry her around the house, lol, it's so funny! I like to call him my "little helper" because he's always there to help me with Remmi. Some of the things I catch him doing with her while I'm not looking just melts my heart. He LOVES that she can crawl now and always says, "Come on Remmi, follow me!" (while whistling for her to come like she's a dog.) I know he will always be her little protector.

Hendrix still likes to rock in the rocking chair before he goes to bed. He has loved it ever since he was teeny tiny. He's never really been a "snuggly" child so I cherish the rocking chair snuggles I get from him. He usually rocks with Daddy but every once in a while I get to cuddle with him while we rock. I feel like he's growing up really fast so I try to soak up as much of my baby as I can. We love you   T    H    I     S    much hendri!  =)

Hendrix is 44 inches tall and weighs 43 pounds.

Here are some cute pictuers I've taken of Hendrix lately.

Remmi's Birthday Party

Remmi's birthday isn't until tomorrow but we wanted to celebrate on Sunday so that everyone could come. We had a BBQ with family, unwrapped presents and ate some goodies. So much fun! Thank you to everyone who brought food and a present for Remmi. We love you so much and can't thank you enough for being a part of her life. She is ridiculously blessed to have so many people in her life who love and adore her. She will realize it one day and know how lucky she is.

I seriously can't believe that Remmi is ONE. I look at her and still see a tiny baby. I remember when Hendrix turned one, I felt like he was so old and no longer a baby. This time around, I feel totally different. I don't want to take away her bottles or watch her take her first steps. I'm not ready for that yet. I want to soak in my baby for as long as I possibly can.

I remember exactly what I was doing at 9:49 pm on May 19th 2012. I was in labor and had been for the last 12 hours. I was trying hard to relax during my contractions but was so exhausted that my body began to shake uncontrollably. I felt as if I had no control over the situation and that no one cared about how much pain I was in. It took everything I had in me to not punch my bitchy nurse in the face and shove my own epidural in my back. (That's a whole different story though.) Little did I know that my sweet baby girl would be arriving in the next 3 hours.

I honestly remember every little detail about my labor and delivery with her. It was long and miserable. I wish I would have done SO many things differently. I would have seen a different O.B, requested a new delivery nurse, kicked everyone out of the delivery room while I was laboring, made Jordan sit next to me and suffer along side with me instead of drinking slurpees and hanging out with everyone in the room. I guess I'll have a long list for the next pregnancy/delivery........

Believe it or not, I actually survived the labor and delivered the most beautiful tiny baby! I was still in shock that we were holding a baby girl. I didn't know what I was going to do with her. I was so used to cars, trucks and everything being blue. I couldn't wait to put a bow on her head and dress her in those itsy bitsy pink onesies. I was in heaven. I remember being extremely exhausted but having this weird "high" after delivering her. Jordan went right to sleep (since he did so much.......) but all I could do was lay awake and watch her sleep. I had waited SO long and been through SO much to get her here that I couldn't bring myself to close my eyes, how could I sleep when I just witnessed this miracle? Exactly.

So here we are, 1 year later with the most delicious, happy little girl! I seriously have to refrain from eating her every single day. Here are some cute pictures from her party!

Jordan and I gave her this swing for her birthday. We attached it to our covered patio so she could hang out in the shade during the summer. She was a little hesitant at first but is kind of obsessed with it now.

In fact, here is a picture of Jordan hanging her swing last night at 10 pm. What a cute Daddy he is, I'm so luck to have him.

My two squishys and my love! I love them a whole freakin lot!

It had been raining all day but the sun came out for a little bit and the kids were in heaven on the trampoline! Love cousins!

I don't know why but lately Remmi doesn't want to look at the camera or smile for the camera. Little stinker!

She's still warming up to Grandpa Lindsi.... one year later.
